We just wrapped up an unforgettable girls’ scrapbooking retreat at the Castle on Kendrick, and we’re already planning our return! As the very first scrapbookers to gather here, it felt like it was designed for us all along. If you’re looking for the perfect creative getaway, here are our Top 10 Reasons to Scrapbook at the Castle.10) Each bedroom has its own full bathroom.9) The spacious cropping area and huge kitchen is in one shared space, keeping everyone in our group engaged.8) The castle is nestled in a delightful, oversized wooded lot. There are many windows, natural light, and a great view!7) Each bed has its own nightstand with a lamp.6) There are more outlets than we needed (at both our cropping stations and at our nightstands).5) There are numerous options when we want a break from cropping: breathing in fresh air on the covered terrace, relaxing into the massage chair, or exercising in the workout room.4) Less than 2 miles away, we could grab our favorite snacks at the grocery store and our carbonated beverages at McDonalds.3) A massage therapist was available for our booking!2) The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to cook onsite. We made our own breakfast, baked cookies, and catered in meals.1) The owners were very service-oriented and friendly, committed to us having a comfortable stay. We’re so grateful to the owners, Jennifer & Bob, for welcoming us into this space and creating such a thoughtful, creativity-friendly retreat. If you’re looking for a place where laughter is loud, ideas flow easily, and memories multiply faster than your page count, this is it. Trust us — pack your paper, bring your friends, and prepare to leave inspired (and already planning your next trip back!).

Absolutely the best experience! Bob brought or bags to our rooms! Huge work spaces! Enormous kitchen. Great dining room table to enjoy fellowship and laughter! Beds with memory foam! Plenty of open seating to hand sew or knit! Everything you could ask for and lovely hosts making sure you have all your needs met! 10/10. You gotta go check them out!

Jennifer was super easy to work with, very accommodating of our request to tour the home...

Review for retreatThis year my sewing group was looking for a new location to hold our annual retreat and decided on Castle on the Kendrick. Jennifer was super easy to work with, very accommodating of our request to tour the home before making our final decision. Our retreat was last weekend and everyone loved it! We have already booked for next year. The sewing area was well organized and with plenty of light. The power banks at each location were super helpful. The chairs were comfortable and rolled super easy. The kitchen was well organized and had every possible item you could possibly want when preparing a meal. Sleeping arrangements had hard and soft options for mattresses making everyone comfortable. Our group makes garments, so we tend to spread out a little more than quilters. Most bring both a sewing machines and sergers for our projects. I would say the sewing area can comfortably accommodate 12 machines. 12 people and 18+ machines would probably be a little tight so we will cap our attendance at 10 for next year's retreat and reevaluate as needed.

The Castle on Kendrick was PERFECT for our group of 10!

The Castle on Kendrick was PERFECT for our group of 10! We had plenty of space to sew, eat and sleep ( although we didn’t sleep much) :). The house was beautiful inside and out and was impeccably clean. We booked our next stay before we left. Can’t wait to visit again in 2026!

This quilting retreat location was perfect.

This quilting retreat location was perfect. Beautiful house, ample area to cut, iron and quilt. Plenty of plugins for machine and personal irons. Kitchen is well stocked- however our group took plenty of food and only used the oven to reheat and cook two meals. TV available in quilting area to watch and work. Alexa played any music you wanted to hear. Bedrooms were wonderful and beds comfortable. Plenty of plugins to charge phones, watches etc. Even though it’s right on a road in a neighborhood you don’t hear the traffic. Everything was perfect and our group has already booked for next year. Highly recommend this location! A+++

Jennifer and Bob, the owners, are wonderful! I highly recommend this venue!

This is my third retreat at The Castle this year. This time, I was the hostess and all of my group loved it. Plenty of room for sewing and room for relaxation. I think we all took advantage of the massage chair. My group was excited to block out a time at The Castle to return next fall. Jennifer and Bob, the owners, are wonderful! I highly recommend this venue!
